The Tertiary and Higher Education Trust (THET) Fund convened a Technical Working Group session under its Foundational Institutional Strengthening Funding Window, bringing together technical focal points from beneficiary institutions to validate priority needs and translate them into clear, technically sound and procurement-ready specifications.
The session on Day One brought together representatives from:
• University of the Gambia School of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (SMAHS)
• University of the Gambia Medical Students Association - UniGAMSA
• University of Science, Engineering and Technology USET
• USET Kanilai
• USET Ndemban
• RURAL Development Institute - RDI
• USET Julangel
Discussions focused on validating institutional priorities, clarifying technical requirements and ensuring that proposed equipment and other interventions are fit for purpose, responsive to actual institutional needs, and ready to move through the procurement process.
For the THET Fund, institutional strengthening is not simply about procuring equipment. It is about ensuring that our tertiary and higher education institutions have the tools, facilities and capacity they need to deliver quality, relevant and practical education and training.
This technical engagement is an important step in moving from identified needs to tangible interventions that will strengthen teaching and learning environments and ultimately improve outcomes for students across The Gambia.
From needs assessment to specifications. From specifications to investment. From investment to stronger institutions.
